Yes, you heard us. NO SUCH THING! The length of a marriage has ZERO to do whether it's a failure or a success. The "failed marriage" is a myth. There are just different kinds of experiences. Is a life a failure when it ends at 50 rather than 90? No, it was just a shorter life, but a failure? Hell no.

 

Dan Erickson tells us on Pick The Brain:

".. a marriage is not a one-size-fits-all relationship. There are different sets of variables, different parts that make the whole. If one part breaks down and the marriage ends, the individuals involved have not failed as long as they tried their best to make things work.".
