Staying married may have long-term benefits. You can elicit much more sympathy from friends over a bad marriage than you ever can from a good divorce. - P. J. O'Rourke

  • REBECCA66 Hi I'm moving into my own house on Friday ( am in Uk) . My 2 sons 12 and 18 coming with me. My ex is moving to his dads wherein he will have no overheads. I will have a mortgage of £500 a month plus all bills food clothes etc. How much should I expect him to reasonably pay me? I am providing a roof over his sons heads. 9 years ago   *   4 replies

    • exhusband UK law is totally different than in the US. i have heard from ONE person in the UK is that he will still have to pay you 50% of what he makes regardless of his overhead but I'm not a lawyer (or barrister as you say), i don't live in the UK, and I've never been divorced in the UK. all to say, ask someone who knows. 9 years ago
