Hey now, hey now...
Heavy changes in the world of Splitsville. First and foremost, Matt has
become a resident of the Mile High City. Contrary to popular belief, the
move was for his family and not his job. Matt's dog Sasha (yes, THE
Sasha) needs the thinner air and change in environment to help cure her
addiction to Milk Bones. Now, some of you may ask how this is going to
affect the Splitsville practice and show schedule? Don't be ridiculous -
it won't.
We are notoriously bad at scheduling practices, and nearly as bad as
setting up shows, but we don't plan to let Matt's move to Denver cramp
our "style". In fact, you can catch us this month in Chicago, and we are
currently setting up shows up and down the eastern seaboard for the
summer months and beyond.
The second biggest change is that we have officially added another
member to the Splitsville family. Long time friend and supporter Rob
Toomey has signed on as the band's manager. Fans of our live show may
have witnessed Rob jump on stage during Dotcom to lend his vocal
"talents" to the end chorus. Frightening. Rob is doing his part to
spread the word (in a wicked Boston accent, no less) and his tenacity
has already paid off in increased exposure for "Incorporated". Check out
the new links for press and radio stations that are spinning tracks from
the album.
Other than that, it's business as usual at Splitsville Central. Believe
it or not, we are preparing our hottest "licks" and "riffs" so we can
get started writing songs for the next album. Of course, our indecision
regarding the direction for the band may kill this project before it
even begins. Matt's vision leans towards Radiohead's "Kid A", while I'm
jockeying for Def Leppard's "Hysteria". This is, sadly, not a joke.
Take care of yourselves.
Brandt
