Hi everyone,

This may come as a surprise to you, but when we started the Splitsville website we envisioned it as a blog-esque way for us to electronically speak our minds whenever we felt like it.  Back then we were also producing our now defunct 'zine, 'You Sank My Battleship,' which was full of ramblings from your favorite band and their goofy friends.  However, since the inception of this site, it's been a struggle for us to put fingers to keyboard and the site updates have been sorely lacking.  For that we apologize.  In an effort to return to our roots I'm going to babble for the next couple of paragraphs.  Sit back and enjoy the ride.

I'm living in Denver now and it's quite a change from Baltimore.  I'm not supposed to spill the beans, but the weather is great and the people are really nice.  I've also entered the 21st Century by purchasing a computer and home studio software.  It's pretty amazing.  I can now do things at my desk that used to take thousands of dollars of equipment to do.  What does this mean to you?  Well, hopefully we can use the information superhighway for the good of Splitsville.  Maybe we'll share our musical ideas in a non-practice setting and perform what we in the business call 'pre-production' for our next CD.  Hell, maybe I'll just post my homespun crap on the site.  Who knows?  We haven't thought any of this through yet.

It is strange not living near Brandt and Paul and Tony.  No more tandem bike rides through Patterson Park.  No more urgent discussions in the steam room or round-robin Greco-Roman wrestling tournaments.  But we still keep in touch by phone, e-mail, fax and carrier pigeon, and Paul calls me every night to sing me to sleep.

Practices are a bitch.

Still, we're moving onward and...if not upward, at least laterally with an incline.  Rob Toomey, our manager-extraordinaire, has gotten us great press in a bunch of places.  Also, our nationwide radio campaign is rolling right along. Radio stations across the country are playing Splitsville songs---and YOUR efforts are paying off, so please keep calling or emailing requests.  Let them know that you love us.

We're all staying busy amusing ourselves.  If you haven't had a chance to see Brandt's side project, Pale Stars, you're either insane or you live outside of a 30 mile radius of Baltimore.  Your loss.  Tony and Paul are still doing their thing as the Taylors, and Tony can be found just about any night of the week playing and drinking somewhere.  Definitely the latter, usually the former.

Splitsville will make their triumphant return to Fletcher's in Baltimore on June 4th for a show that will literally rock your ass off (patent pending), and the next night we'll be at the Acme Underground in NYC for a 9:00 show.  Nine o'clock.  That's early, so you have no excuse.  You must attend.

Well, that's it for the latest update...a whole lot of nothing wrapped up in a pretty bow.  And if that ain't an update, I don't know what is!!!

XOXO
Matt
