Greetings everyone.

We're heading towards the dog days of summer and in Baltimore that means three things: crabs, snow cones and an increase in our already outstanding homicide pace. It seems like there's a ton of news for you, but at the moment we're too addled from the heat to remember. Let's see... the big blue van was moved to a top-secret location after some mischievous local youths decided to play 'Gone in 60 Seconds' with the ignition. We may be involved in the scoring of an independant film - more on that when we firm up the details. Most of our free time has been spent working on making Matt's new house livable and Paul's new deck partyable, but the rest of the time we've been establishing Splitsville's international exposure.

Our foray into Spain in early June was quite a success, and we're itching to go back as soon as possible. If we can find an interested promoter, we may even visit a country near you. If you want to see pics of us doing our thing in Spain go here. Shout outs to our homies Vicente, Leonor, Bruno, Pedro, Mon, Gus, Puerto and to everyone else who made us feel so welcome. Thanks for a great time.

By the way, our resident photographer (Brandt) took three pictures while we were in Spain, and all three were of the same plate of paella. Mmmmmm... paella.

June marks the release of Bulk Rate in Japan on Airmail Records and The Complete Pet Soul in a majority of Europe on Houston Party Records. Not Lame and Parasol will be carrying this new - yet not new at all - version of Pet Soul, so place your order now!! Bulk Rate is pretty fricking (tm) cool if we do say so ourselves... kudos to Hiroshi for putting some serious thought into the packaging of our little bundle of joy. The album is basically a 'best of' our stuff from 1997-2000, including a previously unreleased Who cover, remixes of Yearbook and Dotcom, and a whole bunch of live tracks. We remastered the album at Invisible Sound studios and you can really tell the difference. It comes to you in a cardboard box with a lot of goodies, including some rather interesting picture selections, a sticker, and reprints from our now defunct fanzine 'You Sank My Battleship'. Here's the track list:

1. Yearbook (Sophomore Remix)
2. Dayjob
3. The first thing about regret
4. Ponce de Leon
5. I concentrate on you
6. Downsizing
7. Your way, My way
8. Manna (Radio Edit)
9. Big red sun
10. Here come the bastards
11. Dotcom (Version 2.0 Remix)
12. Our love was (Who cover)
13. Let's go (Live)
14. The Misfits (Live)
15. Adieu (Live)
16. Dixie liquor and beer (Live)
17. Manna (Live)
18. Mary Go Round (Live)
19. The kids who kill for sugar (Live)

There are still no plans of a U.S. release for any of this stuff, which may indicate to the reader that we're either opposed to the idea of a U.S. release or that there is no interest from U.S. labels. Well, neither is completely true. That said... we're in the process of updating the site, so if you have any articles, links, pictures or words of wisdom that you'd like added to our pages by all means send them along.

New music? We are slowly working on songs for a new album, but so far all we've come up with is "gimme a C, a bouncy C".

And on that note... Have a great summer!

Love, Splitsville
