Hello
from Splitsville.
Well,
things have been going to Hell in a hand-basket since
we last posted, haven't they? It seems that Paul's dark
visions of the apocalypse are finally coming to fruition.
Fortunately, he has a lifetime supply of Spam securely
locked in the bomb shelter behind his house. Unfortunately,
Brandt hasn't answered fan mail in weeks (sorry ladies),
and as for me, I'm just waiting for the frigging Stay-Puft
Marshmallow man to start two-stepping it down Baltimore's
Inner Harbor before I lose my, admittedly, tenuous grasp
on reality.
There've
been some big changes around here too, not the least
of which is our brand-spanking-new website. Go ahead
and waste some time mucking around in all things Splitsville.
Hopefully we don't have any dead links, but if we do
please let us know. And if you'd like to contribute
to the content of this website (pictures, articles,
links, etc.) by all means please do so. You know we
love having other people do our dirty work for us.
The
most exciting news in our camp is that we've added a
new member to the Splitsville family. His name is Tony
Waddy, and you can access his vitals here.
We've been talking about adding a fourth member for
a long time, and Tony was the answer to our prayers.
He sings like a bird and plays guitar like… a bird that
plays guitar really well. More importantly, he's a helluva
nice guy. Tony's on-stage duties will primarily be to
play guitar, sometimes switching to bass. This will
open up our live catalog considerably, allowing Paul
to play more keyboards and me to stop panicking every
time we reach a solo.
Tony's
debut performance with Splitsville was here in Charm
City at the Guinness Oyster Fest. We can't remember
how well we played, but we hear it was a resounding
success. You'll be able to catch our new sound at a
couple of upcoming Baltimore shows before we leave for
a two-week tour of Spain. Check out our tour
dates for all of the details. And don't miss our
December 22nd show at the 8x10, as we'll be fresh off
of tour and full of Christmas spirits.
Hopefully
we'll be back in the studio with Andy Bopp in early
spring of 2002 to record some new music, and then we'd
really like to start touring the US again. In the meantime,
you can pick up The Complete Pet Soul in either the
European or Japanese
version, and you really don't want to miss the opportunity
to purchase Bulk Rate, our 'best
of' that's loaded with hard to find songs, re-mixes
and live tracks. The package alone is worth the price
of admission.
That's
all for now. We hope you have a safe and happy holiday
season, and as always: rock on with your bad selves!
Matt
