Hello.

Well, it's the year 2003 and we're still motoring. I'm not sure what kind of accomplishment that is, but tenacity has to count for something these days. I am constantly running across articles where artists are complaining about the music industry, and it's certainly not encouraging.  Hearing about MTV consolidating its playlist, and the droning of labels complaining about the debilitating effects of the internet and CD burning makes the idea of being a professional musician...well...a bad one.

Fortunately, we're not professional. So, we've decided that we're going to finish our album and put it out this year. That's New Year's resolution number one.

New Year's resolution number two is to get out on the road a little bit more, especially overseas. In a perfect world we'd tour constantly, but our damned jobs and the law of diminishing returns are getting in the way.  We get e-mails frequently asking us to play certain cities, and we urge you to please keep sending them. It makes us feel loved—and you never know. But the cost of touring at the level where we'll enjoy ourselves is relatively prohibitive. So our new motto is: quality over quantity.

Remind us of that the next time we get two free cases of cheap beer at a show.

We hope to see you this year, and we hope you get to enjoy some of our new material soon. Keep checking the site for updates.

Matt
