Howdy,

I recently ran into some friends of ours who rehearse at the same godforsaken space where Splitsville "practices" (by the way, if you think bad heavy metal is dead, you've got another think coming).  They wanted to know why we only play shows once every three months and update the website half that often.  Can't say that I have a good answer except - good things are worth the wait.  Or maybe it's - familiarity breeds contempt.

In any case, there is plenty brewing in the Splitsville camp, besides the fact that Matt is getting married (yes ladies, he ties the knot May 9).  Paul is currently working on the new Myracle Brah album as well as fixing a knotty plumbing problem.  Tony continues to whore himself around the local music scene and remains a fixture at Splitsville's favorite pub, Cardwell's Tavern.  I started a country/rock side-project called Pale Stars and we'll be playing a couple of shows this Summer.  The van sits and rots.

I know what you're thinking - that's great but what about Splitsville?  Well, those of you who still listen to music the new old-fashioned way (read: CDs) should be pleased to hear that we are putting the finishing touches on our new full-length in June.  If all goes well the album should drop (I heard 50 Cent say that and I thought I'd give it a try) this Summer on Houston Party Records.  We're pretty excited about the new material - I don't want to give everything away but we do have a song tentatively titled "Can You Eat It?".  This is not a joke.  Well, it is the punchline to a joke but...nevermind.  Come see us debut the new material at our shows in May and June and let us know if you think a song absolutely sucks so we'll know where to put it in the album order.

Speaking of live shows, a handful of you got to see Splitsville at Maxwell's Hoboken, NJ in February.  This should dispel the myth that we are musical mad scientists living reclusive Howard Hughes-like lifestyles.  Truthfully, Paul does collect jars of his own urine, I have seen Matt wear Kleenex boxes on his feet, but Tony's hygiene is beyond reproach.  I, of course, remain perfect.  In any case, we may be playing in your town soon--so keep an eye on the website.

Thanks everyone for your continued support!

Brandt
