Splitsville

Hi there.

Well, my New Year's resolution to update the site monthly didn't last too long, now did it?

That said, there hasn't been much to talk about. We've played a handful of shows, but otherwise it's been pretty quiet in Splitsville. That changed recently when we went in the studio to begin work on what will eventually/hopefully/inevitably become our 4th studio album.

Once again we find ourselves at Invisible Sound Studios under the guiding hand of Dave 'Dutch' Nachodsky. This time, however, we have Tony Waddy providing a sonic onslaught with his guitarra de muerte, so all Hell is breaking loose.

Four of the five tracks we've chosen to record have been road tested in the steamy nightclubs of Baltimore, and the fifth is something that we came up with on the fly. Those of you expecting Return of Pet Soul will be disappointed, as once again we are shifting our musical direction. We're considering Repeater as the jumping off point for this one, with a healthy dose of ROCK added to keep the kids happy. Here's the tentative song title list:

We still have Chicago and NYC in our sites for the Year of Our Lord 2002, so bear with us, friends. Locals: please be aware that we will present our second ever Splitsville Karaoke night sometime in August. You have been warned.
