Staying married may have long-term benefits. You can elicit much more sympathy from friends over a bad marriage than you ever can from a good divorce. - P. J. O'Rourke

  • exhusband I am having trouble with my lawyer and am thinking about writhing in the middle of the year long process. Anyone have any experience with this? Did it hurt your case? 10 years ago   *   3 replies
    • erinnn i dont have experience. but i have heard that is how people sometimes fall thru the cracks. i know one person who switched and was successful. wishing you luck with this. there truly needs to be another way. the system is failing all of us. 10 years ago
      • jimneycrochet the system is disheartening at best in NY. The advice I got was if you aren't happy with your lawyer, make the change REGARDLESS of where you are in the process. It's your life and go with your gut. It's not about the results you are getting necessarily--you have to TRUST this person and if your faith is wavering in their strategy or their process you need to find someone else. 10 years ago
    • plasterdust I have family members who have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars simply due to their lawyers and one partner refusing to switch...if that helps. I'd imagine a year later that you are done. 8 years ago
